Hi friends, I wrote this poem to inspire writers, but I think the lesson here can be applied to any art form or worthy work. Enjoy!
This is the audio version, narrated by Charles DuFont:
When daytime turns to nighttime and the hours creep past as shadows along the walls intricate crevices I reach a place of creativity where the words begin to sparkle and shine within my mind.
Traveling at hyper speeds from my brains’ stem, to the linear patterns of my fingerprints, to a sheet of white
Filling the space with color and glory as each new letter is revealed.
In this moment, I act as a vessel, an intermediary person. One who really doesn’t have much say in the matter. One who needs to shut the f&ck up, sit back and write as the words spew out from within..
One by One
Line by Line
Revelation after Revelation…
It is all exposed
and I achieve
Immortality. In this brief moment of time. And I can only imagine who might pick up these very words and read them out loud amongst his peers.
Perhaps someone in a different land. A different country. Speaking a different language. Living in a different time. Or maybe somebody on another world. We don’t know for sure.
Words, my friend.
When properly aligned.
Like the brightest stars above, pointing us in the right direction, guiding our way through uncharted territories.
May we write and speak that which is worth writing and speaking! Let wisdom reign and let the pen continue its flowing movements until the early hours of the morning
